Elon Musk Is Paying $100 To Voters Who Sign A Petition In This State

Billionaire Elon Musk is offering $100 to Wisconsin voters who sign a petition against “activist judges who impose their own views.”

The move comes as a key Wisconsin Supreme Court seat is up for grabs.

Two Musk-linked groups, America PAC and Building’s America Future, have already spent $20 million to support Brad Schumer, a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court.

Per The Washington Post:

Billionaire Elon Musk stepped up his criticism of judges who have ruled against the Trump administration, donating to Republican lawmakers who support impeaching them and, through his political action committee, paying voters to sign a petition against those he calls “activists.”Musk donated this week to several GOP members of Congress who have introduced articles of impeachment against federal judges or backed the long-shot efforts, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss nonpublic information.

And his political group America PAC has started offering $100 to registered Wisconsin voters who sign its petition against “activist judges who impose their own views” — ahead of a Wisconsin Supreme Court racewhere another Musk-linked group is spending heavily to boost the Republican candidate. The petition reprises a controversial tactic that America PAC used to boost Trump last fall — when Musk announced $1 million lottery prizes for registered swing-state voters who signed a petition meant to appeal to conservatives.

Some legal experts said that ran afoul of federal law against bribing people to register as voters, though Musk’s group eventually prevailed in a court case.

Per Axios:

Elon Musk’s political action committee is offering Wisconsin voters $100 to sign a petition expressing their opposition to “activist judges,” a cause that President Trump is pressing as judges block or delay several parts of his agenda.

The move reflects how Musk is throwing his considerable wealth behind Trump’s priorities — including an upcoming election in Wisconsin for a crucial seat on the state’s Supreme Court.

The April 1 election in Wisconsin will determine the tilt of an ideologically divided bench in a swing state where state-level decisions can carry national implications for abortion rights, legislative redistricting and election laws.

Two Musk-backed groups — America PAC and Building America’s Future — have combined to spend nearly $20 million to support Brad Schimel, the Republican candidate for the Wisconsin court seat.
