$1 Million Spent on Cocaine for Quail Birds Study? DOGE Dives into Government’s Waste

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is already pointing out federal waste.

So many examples are part laughable, part infuriating.

And I’m talking outright unbelievable what our government is burning money on.

One example, DOGE highlighted is a $100K study exploring whether gin or tequila gets sunfish in a fighting mood.

Or how about nearly $1 million to see if cocaine will get Japanese quail to be sexually active.

And my personal favorite, $750K spent to determine whether actor, I mean, astronaut Neil Armstrong said “one small step for man” OR “one small step for A man”.

Now that’s an issue that needs cash thrown at it.

Utterly ridiculous.

I’m sure the Democrats will support DOGE though.

Or maybe not.

Breitbart reports:

The soon-to-be-formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by X owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, shared some examples of obscene government waste on Monday so Americans can have some clear examples of what needs to be cut.

DOGE shared a clip of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), widely known for his annual Festivus government waste report, walking through some of the most shocking ways the U.S. government has wasted taxpayer dollars.

One of the studies highlighted by both Paul and DOGE in involves seeing what makes a sunfish more aggressive: Gin or tequila. About $100,000 went toward that project.

The U.S. government also spent nearly one million on a study to see if cocaine makes Japanese quail more “sexually promiscuous.”

It does not end there, either. The U.S. government also spent $750,000 to determine if Neil Armstrong’s famed line was actually “One small step for man” or “one small step for ‘a’ man.” DOGE pointed out that the study was “inconclusive.”

The clip shared by DOGE also features Sen. Paul noting that $2 million was spent on the “construction of a kelp and shellfish nursery in Maine.”

Paul continued: “$1.5 million to encourage video gaming in New York. … We might be better off spending 1.5 million to discourage kids from a playing video games. … $388,000 for Columbia University … $249,000 for the Baltimore Symphony, give money to all the symphonies.”

Not to mention:

$1.3B sent to dead people

$171M in benefits to prisoners

$101B in improper Medicare payments

$70B more planned for “COVID response” through 2026

$7B annually for mostly empty federal buildings Former retired officials like Fauci still getting

$15M security details

The waste gets even more bizarre: $549K for Russian cat experiments,

$3.7M to study gambling monkeys,

and $20K for drag shows in Ecuador.

So many on X are posting government waste and tagging DOGE, letting them know what else to look into.

Like this one, where did the $42.5 BILLION go?

I’m believing RFK Jr will make all dairy and food organic.

Then Musk can buy McDonald’s and make it efficient and fun again.

Make Fast Food Great Again.

Hey, it used to be.

Before Big Food pumped it full of chemicals.
