Today I will show my naked body on one of the videos predator and rapist Patrick Bryant took of me and many other women.

Without our knowledge. Without our permission. And without our consent.

He stripped his victims of their dignity, their privacy, and their liberty.

He meticulously organized and categorized these images.

And he stored these images of all these women for YEARS without telling them.

He still walks free. No accountability. No jail. No restitution for his victims. Nothing.

He’s still free to rape and film without consequence.

My bills will hold predators and rapists like Patrick Bryant accountable.

I will hold the line for women and victims EVERYWHERE. With EVERY fiber of my being.

In my Oversight hearing today I’m going to expose predator and rapist Patrick Bryant for the monster he is. With evidence. Naked bodies. Legs spread apart. Upskirt photos. The kinds of things he would film and photograph women without their knowledge, permission or consent.

He stored these images for YEARS. And the victims didn’t know.

He is the inspiration for many bills I’ve filed since uncovering what he did to so many women.

The Sue Voyeurs Act and the Stop Voyeurs Act among them.

He still roams free. Free to continue filming women without their knowledge.

I aim to stop this behavior with and protect his many victims with this legislation.

Republican Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina on Tuesday displayed what she said was a still of her nude in a video that her that her former fiance took of her without her consent.

Mace’s ex-fiance, Patrick Bryant, has “categorically denied” her allegations and called them “false and outrageous” in a statement Tuesday. He added that he will take additional steps to clear his name “at the right time.”

The Context
Mace accused Bryant and three other men of sexual abuse and other sex crimes during a House floor speech in February.

During the speech, Mace said she was a victim of sexual assault and stood next to an easel that featured the four men’s names and photos and had the word “PREDATORS” in large font across the top.

Mace’s allegations kicked off a legal firestorm, with one of the accused, Brian Musgrave, filing a defamation lawsuit against the lawmaker. The South Carolina congresswoman also filed a defamation suit against another one of the accused, Eric Bowman, in May.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has confirmed that Bryant is under investigation but has not provided additional details about the nature of the inquiry.

What To Know
Mace shared a nude image from a video of herself during a House Oversight Subcommittee hearing on “surveillance in private spaces” on Tuesday. The South Carolina lawmaker said during the hearing that Bryant recorded and took photos of nude women, as well as filmed “rape.” She labeled his alleged actions “creepy” and “criminal.”

Mace also repeated her allegations against her ex-fiance before Tuesday’s hearing, writing in an X post: “Today I will show my naked body on one of the videos predator and rapist Patrick Bryant took of me and many other women. Without our knowledge. Without our permission. And without our consent.”

Mace alleged that the image displayed on an easel behind her was a screenshot from a video Bryant recorded without her consent. She pointed to a yellow circle on the image, saying, “This naked silhouette is my naked body. I didn’t know that I had been filmed. I didn’t give my consent. I didn’t give my permission and this particular video that Patrick Bryant recorded of me on his secret camera, he saved for over three years without my knowledge.”

Bryant issued a new statement as Tuesday’s hearing was underway, telling a South Carolina news website: “I categorically deny the false and outrageous claims made by Nancy Mace. I have never raped anyone. I have never hidden cameras. I have never harmed any woman. These accusations are not just false. They are malicious and deeply personal. My mistake was loving and trusting someone who later weaponized our relationship.”
