Following on the heels of Bill Owens, Executive Producer of 60-Minutes, CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon has suddenly ‘resigned’ her position today.
At least, that’s how she presented her departure.
Much of the media is solely focused on covering her departure as a simple act of 1st Amendment DEFIANCE against President Trump — who is still characterized by the ‘Lamestream’ as a tyrant intent on destroying free speech.

But there seems to be more to this story than just a Trump-hating journalist throwing a temper-tantrum because her team’s deceptive editing was proven TRUE.
Though… that’s definitely a thing.
Only weeks before Election Day, CBS News’ 60-Minutes actively attempted to deceive the entire country about Kamala Harris’ ability to form a cohesive sentence.
Here’s a quick glance back at that fiasco: a side-by-side mashup of the ACTUAL answer that Kamala gave to one particular question, contrasted with the EDITED answer 60-Minutes aired:

CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon was smack dab in the middle of that interview, the editing, and subsequent resistance to releasing the full unedited transcript (because they knew how damning it would be.)
Forget Biden — that much editing was fully intended to cover up Kamala’s OWN cognitive issues.
And it would have been a problem even if only HALF as much ‘creative license’ had been taken by the editing team.
But no one in their right mind would ever deny the incredible bias and intentional deception that clip reveals on behalf of CBS News, and CEO Wendy McMahon.
Keep in mind that her history as a “journalist” came from writing teasers — hyping up the coming story with colorful editing and sensational taglines.
While there’s nothing wrong with a little hype when it’s warranted, there’s a fine line between REPORTING the news and ‘MAKING’ the news (as Noah has consistently cautioned his writing team).
What 60-Minutes put out just before Election Day was nothing short of a Hail-Mary pass in the hopes that it would DECEIVE voters in to trusting Kamala again.
Thankfully, it didn’t work.
And now, with the full transcript out for everyone to see…
And with President Trump’s $20 BILLION dollar lawsuit against CBS News heating up…
And with a big CORPORATE MERGER in the works for CBS’s parent company, Paramount…
Those within the CBS ranks attempting to stand their ground and act like that 60-Minutes interview wasn’t darn near criminal… are ‘stepping down’, according to Fox News:
CBS News President and CEO Wendy McMahon announced Monday she was stepping down in another stunning move for the embattled company, Fox News Digital has confirmed.
Her exit follows that of longtime “60 Minutes” producer Bill Owens, who quit last month because he felt he’d lost journalistic independence amid an ongoing legal battle with President Donald Trump.
“Today, I am stepping down from my position as president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures. It has been one of the most meaningful chapters in my career. Leading this extraordinary organization has been the honor of a lifetime because I got to work alongside all of you,” McMahon wrote in a memo to staffers.
McMahon’s departure comes as CBS parent company Paramount Global is in mediation with Trump’s legal team, with hopes of settling a $20 billion lawsuit against CBS over its handling of a “60 Minutes” interview last year with then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
ADVERTISEMENTTrump has accused CBS of aiding his 2024 Democratic opponent through deceptive editing just weeks before the presidential election.
Many media observers and CBS News staffers don’t want CBS to settle the suit, which critics have called a hyperbolic reaction to a typical editing decision.
That potential settlement with President Trump’s lawyers seems to be the REAL reason Wendy McMahon — and Bill Owens last month — are leaving.
Even CNN, buried within their attempt at painting this as the result of pressure caused by President Trump’s 1st Amendment oppression, ultimately concluded that the impending merger deal was really driving this “purge”.
Here’s their reporting their Chief Media Analyst’s take:
Wendy McMahon told CBS colleagues that apologizing for the disputed “60 Minutes” segment as a part of any Trump settlement was a “red line” she would not cross, according to two sources who spoke with her about it. pic.twitter.com/aL2JecOJxs

As you heard in that video, CNN’s Brian Stelter claims that the big story is really the pressure inside CBS.
But he (deceivingly?) blended two competing narratives; is that pressure coming from President Trump’s so-called OPPRESSIVE TYRANNY?
Or, as even Stelter himself in effect admitted by his own reporting, is it coming from the Corporate head of CBS’s parent company, Paramount, in the runup to their hoped-for merger with Skydance Media?
McMahon’s own internal memo announcing her resignation seemed to hint that the pressure was coming from Corporate to get on board with an out-of-court settlement with President Trump.
That’s at least how I read it; be your own judge.
Here’s that memo as shared on social media:

It certainly does not seem — as is being reported — that the PRESSURE inside CBS is coming from some fanciful image of a Tyrant Trump stepping all over free speech and the Constitutional protections afforded to journalists.
Though I’m sure that’s how CBS staffers are building it up in their own minds, feeding off each other’s combined cognitive dissonance.
Their reality would SHATTER if they had to come to terms with their involvement in attempting to deceive the American people on that level.
So… they don’t.
But regardless of that angle in the media, the real pressure is coming as a result of a looming corporate merger that may FAIL with a legitimate $20 Billion dollar lawsuit hanging in the wind.

While it seems that CBS is still trying to gaslight the American people into believing the false narrative they’ve created as opposed to what their own eyes tell them…
That continued “purge” from inside CBS hints that a deal with President Trump to avoid his $20 Billion lawsuit is likely in the works.
In fact, Paramount’s largest shareholder was reportedly in favor of McMahon’s “REMOVAL”.
And much of the reporting of today’s ‘resignation’ has characterized her leaving as being “pushed out” in the lead-up to a settlement with President Trump, as was reported by the New York Post:
Embattled CBS News boss Wendy McMahon was pushed out on Monday after less than two years – including a $20 billion lawsuit brought by President Trump that has stalled parent company Paramount’s $8 billion merger with Skydance Media.
McMahon, who was given the title of CEO of CBS News, Stations, and CBS Media Ventures in 2023, has opposed settling the lawsuit over a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris in the heat of the presidential campaign that Trump alleges was deceptively edited to aid the former vice president.
“It’s become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward,” McMahon said in a memo sent to shell-shocked staff.
McMahon’s tenure was marred by her widely-panned overhaul of the evening news, plummeting ratings at both the nightly newscast and the morning show, and internal turmoil over editorial standards.
“This is not a surprise. It was just a question of when,” said one person familiar with the matter. “It’s a bit late to stand up for journalism given what she’s done to CBS News — it’s not even the ratings, it’s the quality of the journalism.”
Paramount’s controlling shareholder Shari Redstone supported McMahon’s removal, a source close to the situation told The Post.
In recent weeks, she has pushed to settle the bitter legal battle as the two sides have gone into mediation – leading longtime “60 Minutes” producer Bill Owens to quit.
Another source close to CBS said McMahon’s exit may also signal a breakthrough in the standoff with Trump.
“Wendy’s exit means the Trump lawsuit mediation must be moving quickly and a deal will be done,” the source said.
Whether the CBS leadership and staff feel maligned by President Trump or not — their “feelings” will probably not win the day, here.
Ultimately, the combined disclosure of just how bad CBS News misrepresented Kamala Harris during that interview, coupled with the Corporate pressures to assuage the situation for the FCC leading up to a big merger, will dictate the path forward for CBS News.
And if those culpable — and unrepentant — for their transgressions against TRUTH in their attempts to deceive the American people continue to be PURGED from those institutions as part of that pressure; may no man hinder that process.
Anyone responsible for that intentional systematic effort to deceive Americans, and the subsequent attempt at covering it up, needs to lose their jobs; at the VERY least.
Goodbye, and good riddance… to Wendy McMahon.
