Chris Cuomo Declares Democratic Party ‘Dead’ After His Brother Is Defeated By ‘Open Socialist’

Disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo staged a political comeback with his recent bid to secure the Democratic nomination for the New York City mayoral race.

But in an embarrassing display, he came up short against an extremist candidate who had been polling in the low single-digit range just a few months ago.

Once again, former CNN host Chris Cuomo, came to his big brother’s defense with a scathing rebuke of the Democratic Party’s perceived demise.

The younger Cuomo, currently a host on NewsNation, shared his thoughts during a recent broadcast, as Just the News reported:

“That [Democratic] party is dead,” said Cuomo, a NewsNation anchor. “What will it be reborn as? We will see. The winner is an open socialist and the Democratic Party is now just that: socialistic.”

The outlet went on to report:

During a monologue on NewsNation, he said Democrats’ reaction to MAGA has become socialism.

“The Democratic Party is now officially in MAGA mode,” he said. “We are now on both sides in a period of extremism. The same way MAGA played with the prejudices of white nationalism, you are seeing an identical dynamic on the left with prejudices like tacitly supporting extreme Islamism or targeting Jews.”

Of course, Cuomo is far from the only one concerned about what Zohran Mamdani’s primary win could mean for New York and the Democratic Party:

Another high-profile critic is Curtis Jackson, better known as rapper 50 Cent, who recently upped his criticism of Mamdani’s tax-the-rich fiscal policies, per the New York Post:

50 Cent said he’ll pay a pretty penny to get rid of Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani and his tax-the-rich plan — after the Big Apple mayoral hopeful name-dropped the Queens rapper on a popular podcast.

“Where did he come from? Whose friend is this? I’m not feeling this plan. No. I will give him $258,750 and a first class one-way ticket away from NY,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram Wednesday.

The 49-year-old hip-hop star, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, was firing back at comments Mamdani made about raising taxes while appearing on “The Breakfast Club” earlier this month.
