Clinton Family Member Reportedly Seeks Position In Potential Kamala Harris Administration

According to the New York Post, Chelsea Clinton has her eyes on a position in Kamala Harris’ administration if she becomes president.

The daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton reportedly wants to be ambassador to the United Kingdom.

“Chelsea really wants to be the ambassador to the UK,” a Clinton source told the outlet.

“There’s a reason why Bill and Hillary came out in the first five minutes to support Kamala’s presidential bid — they were currying favor,” the source added.

The Clintons have apparently been working on this for a while.

From the New York Post:

The former first daughter, who is vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, would also love a gig in France, the source said.

“I can well imagine that the UK ambassadorship is an aspiration for Chelsea, although she is a bit junior still — and London usually goes to a massive donor or fundraiser,” a longtime British embassy official, now based in London, told The Post.

Added the Clinton source of Chelsea’s UK dream: “It is, of course, fantasy land.”

Another person in the know noted that Chelsea, 44, would be open to ambassadorships in other countries, adding, “I’ve heard for a long time that Chelsea has been hopeful for an ambassadorship.”

Businesswoman Jane Hartley, 74, has been the ambassador to the UK since 2022, after Michael Bloomberg reportedly turned it down. She was formerly ambassador to France and Monaco during the Obama administration and has been a major campaign “bundler” for the Democratic party, reportedly helping raise a half-million dollars for Obama.

Chelsea Clinton has been active trying to rally women voters for Kamala Harris.

She joined a “Women for Harris” Zoom call this week to help fundraise for the Democratic nominee, the Washington Examiner reports.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Clinton said she is confident that Harris is “uniquely positioned” to prosecute the “case against Donald Trump for all of the unique dangers that he poses” to the country.

“Unlike 2016, Donald Trump is not theoretical,” Clinton said. “We now have a record that he can hold him to account for and we have an extraordinary candidate in Vice President Harris.”

“Shirley Chisholm put a big crack in that glass ceiling, my mom put a few more cracks in that glass ceiling, and Vice President Harris is going to obliterate that glass ceiling,” Clinton added.

The “Women for Harris” Zoom call drew in over 120,000 attendees, according to National Engagement Director Rhonda Foxx, and brought in Clinton and other top women activists such as Gloria Steinem, Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts, and Hollywood actresses Yvette Nicole Brown and Connie Britton. It is the latest call to take place as several voting blocs are organizing virtual events to try and rally support and funds for Harris.
