“Crush Your Economy” – Sen. Lindsey Graham Issues Warning To U.S. Allies

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) threatened to place sanctions on U.S. allies if they enforce the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Graham said “I will put sanctions on you as a nation” for enforcing the warrant.

“If you are going to help the ICC as a nation – enforce their arrest warrant against Bibi and Gallant, the former defense minister, I will put sanctions on you as a nation,” Graham said.

“You’re gonna have to pick the rogue ICC versus America,” he continued.

“So to any ally – Canada, Britain, Germany, [and] France – if you try to help the ICC, we’re gonna sanction you,” Graham added.

Hannity referenced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s position on the matter.

Trudeau said Canada would “abide by all the regulations and rulings of the international courts.”

“What should the penalty be?” Hannity asked Graham.

Per Newsweek:

Netanyahu has called the ICC’s arrest warrant an “antisemitic decision” and said, “Israel utterly rejects the false and absurd charges of the ICC, a biased and discriminatory political body.”

Several countries including U.S allies such as Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Lithuania, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Turkey, Jordan, Norway and Sweden, have said they will comply with the ICC’s arrest warrant or are open to it.

“The ICC is a kangaroo court and Karim Khan is a deranged fanatic. Woe to him and anyone who tries to enforce these outlaw warrants. Let me give them all a friendly reminder: the American law on the ICC is known as The Hague Invasion Act for a reason. Think about it,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said.

Some X users claimed Cotton threatened to invade the Netherlands with his statement.

The ICC is based in the Netherlands.

“Botched neocon lab experiment Tom Cotton threatens a US invasion of the Netherlands on behalf of apartheid Israel,” The Grayzone editor Max Blumenthal said.

The American Service-Members’ Protection Act, known informally as The Hague Invasion Act, is a United States federal law described as “a bill to protect United States military personnel and other elected and appointed officials of the United States government against criminal prosecution by an international criminal court to which the United States is not party.”

The Act gives the president power to use “all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court.”

Mediaite reports:

Meanwhile, other world leaders have vowed to uphold the warrant issued by the ICC including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who vowed to “abide” by ICC rulings for the Israeli prime minister.

Dearborn, Michigan, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, an outspoken critic of Israel’s government, reacted to the warrant by claiming Netanyahu would not be welcomed in the town.

“Our president may not take action, but city leaders can ensure Netanyahu and other war criminals are not welcome to travel freely across these United States,” said Hammoud.

The Biden administration issued a statement “fundamentally” rejecting the ICC’s warrants for the Israeli leaders. The White House is also cooperating with Israel on a response to the ICC.
