There were clearly many issues that drove Americans to send President Donald Trump back to the White House for a second term.
Much of it was a response to the disastrous economic and immigration policies of the Biden administration, but former Fox News Channel host Megyn Kelly pointed out a different message voters delivered on Election Day.
As the Daily Caller reported, she described Trump’s victory as an “F you” to the many supposed experts and once-trusted institutions that handed down draconian orders in response to the COVID pandemic:
While the “15 days to slow the spread” initiative began under Trump’s first administration, prolonged masking and vaccine mandates soon followed under the Biden-Harris administration. Discussing a recent New York Times op-ed on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” which admitted Americans were misled about COVID-19 not being a lab leak, Kelly called out the outlet for trying to “cleanse their own hands” as Trump returns for the next four years.
“By the way, the election of President Trump was a middle finger to all these institutes too. In part, it was America saying, ‘F you and what you did to us. You lied to us over the most consequential things affecting our lives, our health care, our loved ones dying and our ability to see them, our children and their wellness in schools,’” Kelly said.
“The masking on toddlers, nonstop. F you. You’re all fucking fired! All of you fired,” Kelly added. “So it’s like it’s all baked in. Now the New York Times has to try to whitewash what it did. So you’ll believe it when it tells you that [HHS Director] Kennedy’s evil and you need to trust them, [you] need to trust The Times.”
Of course, frequent listeners of Kelly’s podcast were probably already familiar with her profanity-laced taunt, which she has directed at others in the past:

As for the Times article Kelly referenced in her recent monologue, the New York Post provided additional details:
In an opinion piece published Sunday, Zeynep Tufecki, a sociology professor at Princeton University, argued that officials and scientists hid facts, misled a Times journalist and colluded on campaigns to bury the possibility of a research lab leak in Wuhan, China.
It has emerged that safety precautions at the Wuhan lab in question “might have been terrifyingly lax,” Tufecki wrote in her column, titled “We Were Badly Misled About the Event That Changed Our Lives.”
Social media users were quick to accuse the Gray Lady of hypocrisy, circulating photos of a now-deleted 2021 post from Times journalist Apoorva Mandavilli that claimed the “lab leak theory” had “racist roots.”
“Five years too late,” one user wrote about Tufecki’s article in a post that garnered 10,000 likes.
“Remember when the NYT would call you a misinformation spreader, and social media platforms would ban you for believing COVID-19 originated in a lab?”
Here’s a clip of Kelly’s latest rant:
