FACT-CHECK: Michael Jordan Endorses President Trump?

Time for a Fact-Check!

Has Michael Jordan endorsed President Trump in an election day game-changer?

It’s going viral on Twitter right now:

I especially liked this post, claiming that this is why Michael Jordan came out of retirement wearing #45.

That’s clever:

One more here:

But….is it true?

The underlying principal guiding this website is we print the truth wherever we find it — not just when it’s something we like or agree with.

So while I’d love to tell you Michael Jordan has endorsed President Trump, the truth is he hasn’t and I need to report that.

Twitter has posted this Community Note stating the endorsement is “Fake News”:

The Daily Mail also just reported that a representative for His Airness denies the endorsement:

Michael Jordan’s representatives have strenuously denied that the NBA legend has endorsed Donald Trump ahead of this week’s presidential election.

On the eve of the much-anticipated vote, rumors flooded social media that MJ was backing Trump in his battle against vice president Kamala Harris.

Many athletes from across sports have publicly supported their preferred candidate, including LeBron James – who endorsed Harris – and Nick Bosa, who wore a Make America Great Again hat after a recent game.

But Jordan has steered clear of backing either nominee. In a statement to DailyMail.com, his representatives said: ‘There is absolutely no truth to the claim that Michael Jordan has made an endorsement in the presidential election.’

The six-time NBA champion, whose star power endures decades after he retired, is notoriously private.

He is barely active on social media and has rarely revealed his political allegiances.

Michael Jordan has famously stayed out of politics his entire career, even when family members have asked him to take up left-leaning causes.

When asked why he doesn’t get more active, Jordan once famously responded: “Because Republicans buy sneakers too!”

But since we’re talking about Mike, can we take a moment to relive how absolutely incredible Mike and Kobe were?

The art….

The skill…

The gracefulness on the court….

I stopped watching basketball when Kobe retired and it became lame and woke, but I sure do miss watching THIS kind of basketball.

There was something absolutely magical about watching Mike and Kobe play…

Please enjoy this walk down memory lane:

And here:

And perhaps my favorite of all time….

Watch as Kobe meticulously copied Michael Jordan’s game, down to every last little step:

The two best to ever play the game.

Mike hasn’t endorsed President Trump, and he famously didn’t respect almost anyone else who played the game, but he did respect Kobe and the two had a friendship built on mutual admiration.

And to all the LeBron fans….I’ll just leave this here:

The woke mind virus that is infecting our country has also infected and ruined the NBA.

So sad!
