JUST IN: President Trump’s Inauguration Location Moved

President Trump’s inauguration on Monday will be moved indoors due to the expected weather conditions.

The forecast predicts freezing temperatures in Washington D.C.

Sources said Trump is expected to be sworn in inside the Capitol Rotunda.

“This inauguration is forecast to be the coldest in 40 years,” ABC News noted.

“At this point let’s just move it to Mar-A-Lago!” former Congressman Matt Gaetz suggested.

Per ABC News:

A quick-moving storm could bring some snow to D.C. on Sunday afternoon.

When Trump is sworn in at noon on Monday, the temperature will be about 18 or 19 degrees. Due to the wind, the wind chill — what temperature it feels like — will be between 5 and 10 degrees.

President Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in 1985 was also moved inside due to the weather.

The temperature that morning fell to a low of 4 degrees below zero. The temperature was just 7 degrees at noon, marking the coldest January Inauguration Day on record. Reagan’s parade was also canceled.

It remains unclear where the inaugural parade and other celebrations will take place.

CNN reports:

Plans are underway to have Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance sworn into office inside the US Capitol Rotunda, the sources said. Discussions regarding where to hold the inaugural parade and other celebrations are still underway. However, Trump’s team has been in talks to potentially hold some of the festivities at the Capital One arena, where Trump will host a rally on Sunday.

Trump’s team is also in talks with the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies about how to handle the tens of thousands of people who had planned to travel to the National Mall to witness Trump being sworn in. Those decisions are still under consideration, the sources told CNN.

Officials are worried about the low temperatures being a health risk to attendees and guests.
