Kinzinger Shows Off Tough Guy Act Over President Trump’s Pardon Nullification: ‘We Will Crush You’

Few Republicans have received more backlash from within the party in recent years than former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois.

As a pivotal member of the January 6 congressional committee that sought to blame President Donald Trump for a 2021 protest on Capitol Hill, he went on to receive a last-minute pardon as Joe Biden was about to exit the White House earlier this year.

In light of revelations that an autopen was apparently used to endorse the pardons, Trump issued a statement calling for them to be rendered void.

Kinzinger responded with an on-air taunt this week during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, per Breitbart:

“January 6 was a big thing, but America made a different choice. Fine. I’m ready to move on. I’m like, look, we made it very clear what happened on January 6. America made a decision.”

He added, “There is one person that’s obsessed about the six because he still has been basically deemed guilty in the court of public opinion, and that’s Donald Trump. And he can’t handle it. He obsesses about it. so my reaction to him is like, you know what? Then bring it. Sstop talking about it. Stop being all verbose. Stop pretending like you’re tough. Bring the charges then if you really want to do it because we will crush you in court.”

He also took aim at the president via social media:

But he wasn’t the only Trump hater willing to put on an act of bravado for the cameras:

Failed 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz also got in on the politically charged tough talk, as OutKick reported:

Walz decided to join Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast (another guy positioning himself for a 2028 run), and made one of the most outrageous comments I’ve heard in a long time:

He thinks he’s capable of kicking the “ass” of people.

The context? It’s honestly a bit hard to understand, but it seems to sound like he’s referring to people who he disagrees with or don’t like him.

It sounded like Newsom wanted to get an idea of how to get men back into the party. I guess the Minnesota Governor just wanted to let people know he’s a real brawler.

Here’s a clip of that interview:

And this is what Kinzinger had to say on CNN:
