Majority Of House Democrats Refuse To Condemn Colorado Terror Attack: ‘They’re Proud Of It’

Following a horrific terrorist attack on a group of peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators earlier this month, GOP lawmakers advanced a bill in the House aimed at clearly denouncing the violent act of apparent antisemitism.

Although a few dozen House Democrats voted with their Republican counterparts to ensure the bill’s passage, the majority of them rejected it.

The “no” votes from so many legislators drew swift backlash from the GOP side of the aisle.

According to the New York Post:

The resolution, introduced by Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo.), cleared the lower chamber 280-113, with 75 Democrats joining Republicans to pass the measure.

Democrats fumed over language in the resolution expressing “gratitude to law enforcement, including US Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel, for protecting the homeland.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee, the House GOP’s campaign arm, charged that Democrats voting against the bill “sided with terrorists over police officers and flat-out refused to condemn antisemitism.”

Fox News also reported on the recent vote:

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., criticized Evans’ resolution in comments to reporters on Monday.

“Who is this guy? He’s not seriously concerned with combating antisemitism in America. This is not a serious effort,” Jeffries said. “Antisemitism is a scourge on America. It shouldn’t be weaponized politically.”

Jeffries also called Evans “a joke.”

Evans responded on X, “I served our nation in uniform in the Middle East, as a cop in Colorado, & now as a Congressman. This wildly offensive sentiment from Democrat’s Leader is why antisemitism persists. The Left is unserious about finding real solutions.”
