Over 300 “Youths” Create Chaos at Mall in Massive Brawl, Officer Seriously Injured

The local Police Department had to call for reinforcements from neighboring towns after a massive brawl broke out at a NJ mall over the weekend.

One Officer was seriously injured at the scene while attempting to break up the chaos, fracturing his ankle according to the Edison, NJ Police Chief.

The event happened at least partially as a result of planning via TikTok.

Videos of the event were taken and uploaded to social media, giving a good glimpse of the size of the crowds.

Here’s one clip that shows the moment some of those inside the mall panicked — either as a result of the violence, or when they realize Police are responding:

Of course we all know “youths” is a euphemism for…do you know?  Leave a comment down below if you know what word the MSM always substitutes for “youths” when it’s associated with violence and destruction.

New Jersey Mayor Samip Joshi (a Democrat) posted these updates to his Instagram account over the weekend:

Flash mobs and large fights at malls and other venues is nothing new.

But with more than 300 people converging on the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, this incident went far beyond the average dustup.

Here’s another video of the chaos which may have played a role in causing the chaos to expand from it’s initial estimate of 100, to the 300+ youth’s later reported by Police:

Local reports indicate that another event was recently canceled as a result of ‘rowdy teens’ in another New Jersey town just a few days ago.

The local Police Chief put the chaos squarely on parenting — or lack there of —  according to local NJ radio station WKXW:

The teens showed up around 8 p.m. at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, according to Mayor Sam Joshi. Video of the event shows large groups of teens standing around the mall while others ran screaming through the food court. Stores dropped their gates as the crowd size grew and bad behavior increased.

One of the teens faces charges of assaulting a police officer while others face disorderly conduct charges, according to Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan.

The gathering appears to be the result of posts on TikTok promoting the “Menlo Park Linkup” for Saturday, which received over 150,000 views, according to the New York Post. Joshi said that none of the teens who were arrested were from Edison.

The incident is the latest weekend event in New Jersey to be disrupted by rowdy teens. A church carnival was canceled in Bellmawr on May 12, five were arrested at the Hamilton Mall on May 4, and Wildwood police warned about a pop-up party promoted on social media for last Saturday. Bryan places the blame on social media and a lack of parenting.

“What’s up with the parents? I always knew what my kids were doing. I would never condone them going to the mall and creating havoc and chaos,” Bryan said. “That’s an issue. That’s a problem that we have now.”

The New York Post reported on the incident, sharing this mashup of footage taken from the scene — mostly by those participating in the chaos:

Here’s the full screen version of that video for convenience:

The temptation is to throw up your hands and blame parents.

And trust me — I do.

But there’s something else that should capture our attention as these types of dangerous scenes become more common.

Preparedness is a responsibility, and a civic duty — much less a REQUIREMENT for parents living in the United States in 2025.

Anyone with even a surface understanding of Biblical prophecy knows that it’s going to get far worse before it gets better, regardless of which party or individual is elected to office.

More and more high-profile social media accounts and podcasters have been sounding the alarm for the last few years, and I want to amplify that call to action.

Preparedness… is not faithlessness, anymore than LACK OF PREPAREDNESS is a sign of FAITH.

The Bible is full of examples of people acting in FAITH — trusting God — but also acting with PRUDENT PLANNING; as a faithful execution of their God-given responsibilities to love and care for others.

If nothing else, I hope we all take that lesson away from stories like this.

There were seven arrested in this particular incident, which increased in size after social media posts of the initial crowds were shared, according to the New York Post:

Hundreds of youths descended upon a New Jersey mall Saturday night in a meet-up that reportedly was planned on TikTok and led to a massive brawl.

Seven minors were arrested in the chaotic melee that was spurred by TikTok posts calling for juveniles to meet up at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison that night, according to officials and local reports.

The out-of-control gathering soon grew exponentially, from just 100 people to “over 300 youth” from across the Garden State, shortly after 8 p.m., Edison Mayor Sam Joshi wrote on social media.

At least four of the seven minors who were arrested were from other towns, according to Joshi.

Edison police had to call for backup from neighboring police departments to clear out the hooligans.

As cops worked to get the rowdy crowd under control, one officer fractured their ankle, Edison Police Chief Tom Bryan told My Central Jersey.

Of the seven arrested, one was charged with aggravated assault on an officer, and six others face disorderly conduct charges. One person was charged with both disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, Bryan told the outlet.

Some participating youths shared posts on TikTok and Instagram leading up to the swarm, telling people to show up at the mall at 7 p.m.

There was also a report that the entire situation began because an INFLUENCER decided to put out several videos in advance of Saturday’s chaos.

That tracks with the reporting that most of those involved in the incident weren’t even from Edison, NJ… but had arrived from neighboring towns.

The local ABC affiliate covered the event, covering that angle, in this video report:

There will be those (Democrats, RINOs, and your average Statists) who see CENTRALIZED GOVERNMENT CONTROL as a potential solution to these scenarios.

Those people don’t know the first thing about freedom.

And they don’t tend to realize that no matter what “solution” we human come up with… it’s never going to fully SOLVE the issue of SIN — which is at the heart of every single one of these dangerous occurrences.

The founding fathers had it right when they recognized the tension between FREEDOM and SAFETY.

And the rightfully understood that the destruction of freedom would never create the security or safety that we would all like to create.

Dangerous liberty is a real thing.  And creating more centralized control over social media in an attempt to completely obliterate these events is dumb, ungodly, and un-American.

But at the same time that we recognize the prophetic nature of these events, and their ensured continuance…

We have to recognize the clear call from God’s Word to act in ways that RESPONSIBLY RESPOND to threats proactively.

Parenting, as the Edison Police Chief mentioned, comes to mind.

We have to put the focus back on the family dynamic… and stop thinking that indoctrinated government schooling is going to somehow create something OTHER than this outcome, in this day and age.

But we also have to simply face the facts: these events will continue.  And they will continue to grow MORE DANGEROUS as they grow more COMMON.

Preparedness can look like good parenting.

It can also look like having a good exit strategy, avoiding large crowds, and carrying the appropriate ‘tools’ to mitigate life-threatening danger when it threatens your family — or those around you — unexpectedly.

President Trump isn’t the only one who can Make America Great Again.

In fact, it’s going to take a lot more of us proactively preparing to mitigate dangerous and chaotic situations to really pull that off.

I pray God helps us do it.  Because I’d hate to rely solely on Congressional legislation and Executive Orders to keep my family safe.
