The Trump administration is taking the violent attacks on ICE agents in Los Angeles very seriously.
President Trump has already deployed the National Guard.
Now, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says he will deploy active-duty Marines at Camp Pendleton if the violence continues.

The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal Law Enforcement are designed to prevent the removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens from our soil; a dangerous invasion facilitated by criminal cartels (aka Foreign Terrorist Organizations) and a huge NATIONAL SECURITY RISK.Under President Trump, violence & destruction against federal agents & federal facilities will NOT be tolerated. It’s COMMON SENSE.The @DeptofDefenseis mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement in Los Angeles. And, if violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized — they are on high alert.
Active-duty Marines can be deployed on US soil to address civil unrest in California under the Insurrection Act of 1807, which allows the President to use federal troops to suppress insurrection or domestic violence when local authorities fail. However, the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 generally prohibits military involvement in civilian law enforcement, making such deployments legally complex and rare. Presidential approval is required, and the threshold for “insurrection” is high. California’s 2025 protests, particularly in Los Angeles, have seen National Guard deployment, suggesting a preference for state-controlled forces. Deploying Marines would be controversial, risking civil liberties and escalating tensions, as seen in debates over past deployments like the 1992 LA riots.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told NBC News the president can “call forth” guardsmen who would otherwise report to a state’s governor. Trump has the authority to do this under limited circumstances, she said.
ADVERTISEMENT“These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States,” Leavitt said.
A copy of the memo shows the administration is seeking to deploy at least 2,000 Guardsmen for 60 days or a period of time determined by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Hegseth “may employ any other members of the regular Armed Forces as necessary to augment and support the protection of Federal functions and property in any number determined appropriate in his discretion,” the memo states.

Or, these folks launching fireworks at the police and starting a brush fire:

Meanwhile, the city’s leaders are completely useless.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass would rather her city burn than let ICE do its job and deport all the criminal illegals plaguing that town.
Here’s how she reacted to the protests yesterday:

Now, in her latest statement regarding the riots in her city, Karen Bass is blaming the wildfires from five months ago…
Yes, you read that right.
What a dumb grift.
But hey, at least now she is condemning the violence….after stoking the flames yesterday!

This is a difficult time for our city. As we recover from an unprecedented natural disaster, many in our community are feeling fear following recent federal immigration enforcement actions across Los Angeles County.
Reports of unrest outside the city, including in Paramount, are deeply concerning. We’ve been in direct contact with officials in Washington, D.C., and are working closely with law enforcement to find the best path forward.
Everyone has the right to peacefully protest, but let me be clear: violence and destruction are unacceptable, and those responsible will be held accountable.
Meanwhile, Gov. Gavin Newsom is busy criticizing President Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard.
The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.
LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close…
— Governor Gavin Newsom (@CAgovernor) June 8, 2025
He went as far as to say that President Trump is only trying to cause a “spectacle” by deploying the National Guard to LA.
The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.
Don’t give them one.
Never use violence. Speak out peacefully.
— Governor Gavin Newsom (@CAgovernor) June 8, 2025
Um, no.
Sorry, but wasn’t it Gavin Newsom and the rest of the Democrat leadership in Los Angeles and California who encouraged the violence that caused this “spectacle” of protestors vs. ICE agents in the first place?
Or did I miss something?
Now, since Gov. Newsom and Mayor Bass refused to get Los Angeles under control themselves, the federal government is forced to step in.
Because unlike Democrat leaders, President Trump and Pete Hegseth don’t want to sit back and watch LA burn to the ground — again.
What are your thoughts?
Would you support the Marines being deployed to Los Angeles?
