Police Appear To Have Multiple Fights With Fans At Football Game, Sheriff’s Office To Review Viral Footage

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is reviewing viral footage from Saturday’s Florida-Georgia football game, where police officers appear to brawl with fans in the stands.

“The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Professional Standards Division is aware of the videos circulating from the Georgia-Florida football game. Administrative reviews of the incidents are being opened. As such, the agency will not comment until all facts are known and the reviews have been completed,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated.

In a 15-second clip, multiple police officers appear to have violent confrontations with people in the bleachers.

“Get off him,” someone yells in the background.

“Why are you punching him,” the individual says.

“Police officers seen beating up fans at the Florida vs Georgia football game. One officer was seen punching a man on the ground while the other officer was punching what appeared to be an elderly man,” Collin Rugg wrote.

“Both men were covering their faces from the barrage of punches. It is not exactly clear right now what led up to this moment,” he added.

FOX 35 Orlando reports:

While the Florida Gators lost to the Georgia Bulldogs, 20-34, on Saturday down, there appears to have been another situation happening up in the stands.

A viral video posted to X shortly before 7 p.m. appears to show a fight between police officers and a pair of fans. The 15-second video appears to show one officer punching someone repeatedly as they’re covering their face and lying on the aisle steps, as another officer appears to repeatedly punch another person further down the aisle multiple times.

In another video shared by civil rights attorney John Phillips, police officers appear to tase a man in the stands and punch him in the face with handcuffs.

“That’s assault,” someone yells in the background.

“That’s a lawsuit,” the individual says.
