President Trump just fired off on “non-working holidays” that force workers to take a day off and are costing our nation “BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.”
He says that things must change.

Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
President Trump’s post seems to be in response to Juneteenth — a federal holiday that Joe Biden declared in 2021.
The Hill said:
Government employees are traditionally given the day off on federal holidays while receiving pay.
Juneteenth, created to celebrate the freedom of enslaved Black Americans, was designated as a federal holiday in 2021 by former President Biden.
However, his call to get rid of “non-working holidays” is stirring up a lot of debate online.

Not onboard for this one. Holidays are determined by the company in the private sector. It’s a benefit that companies can use to compete for employees. It’s also time people usually spend with their friends and families. We have enough overreach. You have a lot more cutting to do…

I think a healthy middle ground should be the focus here.
Get rid of ‘Juneteenth’ and other such made-up holidays. But, give hard-working Americans some time off on holidays that honor our nation and our God.
Which, honestly, seems like what most middle-class Americans already get. It’s only federal employees and Congressmen that get way too much time off…
