RUN, JIMMY, RUN: The Race Is On, Jimmy Patronis Officially Submits His Resignation

Matt Gaetz’s House Seat is now vacant after his resignation from Congress and the race is on to see who will fill it.

A special election will be held in 2025.

The primary election for the seat is Jan. 28, 2025 and the general election is scheduled for April 1.

And President Trump has already given a strong endorsement to Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis, urging him to “Run, Jimmy, Run!”

And it seems he will do just that….

News just broke that Patronis has submitted his letter of resignation, effective March 31 — just one day before the general election:

Here’s more on the breaking story, from Florida Voice News:

Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis sent his notice of resignation to Gov. Ron DeSantis and Secretary of State Cord Byrd Monday in order to run in the 2025 special election for Florida’s 1st Congressional District.

The primary election for the seat is Jan. 28, 2025 and the general election is scheduled for April 1, therefore, the chief financial officer said his resignation will be effective March 31.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Florida’s CFO for nearly eight years,” Patronis said. “Together, we have worked with the Florida Legislature to provide benefits for mental health and cancer for Florida’s first responders. They are always there when we need them, and in return, we showed up for them in their time of need. I was proud to lead our Florida Urban Search and Rescue Teams to respond to multiple hurricanes and even the deadly Surfside Building Collapse.”

“We have also held the line on state spending, paid down state debt, reformed insurance laws, and invested record amounts in Israel Bonds,” he said. “The best part is, we are just getting started. I know Florida is on a roll and it is only the beginning under the new federal leadership of President Elect Donald Trump.”

President-elect Donald Trump endorsed Patronis for the congressional seat on Monday. Following the endorsement, multiple candidates began announcing they are dropping out of the race.

Patronis himself them posted this on X, asking President Trump to “put him to work!”

Let’s do this!
