VICTORY: Federal Appeals Court Hands President Trump BIG Win

President Trump just scored another major victory over the establishment media!

Today, a federal appeals court ruled against a lower court decision requiring the White House to let journalists from the fake news Associated Press into the Oval Office, Air Force One, and certain areas of the White House for press events.

As you may remember, the White House’s decision to ban AP journalists came after they refused to recognize the Gulf of America by its new name.

Check it out:

This is a huge step in the right direction.

Why should fake journalists who refuse to report the truth be given the special privilege to enter the President’s home?

Their spot should go to an actually credibly news outlet that reports on the facts.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to the big win:

VICTORY!

As we’ve said all along, the Associated Press is not guaranteed special access to cover President Trump in the Oval Office, aboard Air Force One, and in other sensitive locations.

Thousands of other journalists have never been afforded the opportunity to cover the President in these privileged spaces.

Moving forward, we will continue to expand access to new media so that more people can cover the most transparent President in American history rather than just the failing legacy media.

And by the way @AP, it’s still the Gulf of America.

Reuters has more details on the ruling:

President Donald Trump is free to bar the Associated Press from some White House media events for now, after a U.S. appeals court on Friday paused a lower court ruling mandating that AP journalists be given access.

The divided ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit temporarily blocks an order by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, who ruled on April 8 that the Trump administration must allow AP journalists access to the Oval Office, Air Force One and White House events while the news agency’s lawsuit moves forward.’

The 2-1 ruling was written by U.S. Circuit Judge Neomi Rao, joined by fellow Trump appointee U.S. Circuit Judge Gregory Katsas.

Rao wrote that the lower court injunction “impinges on the President’s independence and control over his private workspaces” and that the White House was likely to ultimately defeat the Associated Press’ lawsuit.

The Associated Press in a statement said it was disappointed by the decision and weighing its options.

AP previously sued the Trump administration following the ban.

CBS News said:

The AP, which says its news reporting reaches roughly 4 billion people daily, filed its lawsuit against three senior White House officials after it was informed in February that it would no longer be allowed in places like the Oval Office and on Air Force One as part of the press pool until the AP revised its influential Stylebook to use the name Gulf of America instead of Gulf of Mexico.

The Stylebook is a writing and editing guide that is used by newspapers, magazines and other media outlets throughout the country. It covers a wide range of topics, from abbreviations of state names to describing ages to jargon used in different sports.
