[WATCH] Secret Service “Needs More Help,” Joe Biden Says

Joe Biden finally issued a statement regarding the attempted assassination against President Trump on Sunday.

“Thank God the president’s OK,” Biden told reporters.

“One thing I want to make clear, the [Secret] Service needs more help and I think Congress should respond to their needs, if in fact they need more servicemen,” he continued.

Per ABC News:

Secret Service agents fired at a man armed with an AK-47-style rifle on or near the Trump International golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida on Sunday. The FBI said it was investigating the matter as a possible assassination attempt. The incident comes just two months after the former president was shot in the ear at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump thanked law enforcement, including the Secret Service, for keeping him safe during the incident.

“I have been briefed by my team regarding what federal law enforcement is investigating as a possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today. A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former President and those around him safe,” Biden’s X account posted.

“I am relieved that the former President is unharmed. There is an active investigation into this incident as law enforcement gathers more details about what happened,” the statement continued.

“As I have said many times, there is no place for political violence or for any violence ever in our country, and I have directed my team to continue to ensure that Secret Service has every resource, capability and protective measure necessary to ensure the former President’s continued safety,” it added.

Biden also made these remarks:

Axios reports:

Biden said on Monday that additional resources could include more personnel.

Acting Secret Service director Ronald Rowe is reportedly in Florida visiting the scene as apart of the ongoing investigation into the incident and is expected to meet with Trump Monday, CNN reports.

Members of Congress from both parties have called for Trump to receive more protection in the aftermath of the incident.

Trump’s Secret Service protection is more limited than it would be if he were the sitting president.

The first assassination attempt against Trump spurred multiple federal and congressional investigations and eventually led to the resignation of then-Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle.

“I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America,” Harris said Sunday in a disgusting, half-hearted attempt.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) wasted little time ramping up the vitriolic rhetoric following the assassination attempt against Trump.

“Extreme MAGA Republicans are the party of a national abortion ban and Trump’s Project 2025. We must stop them,” Jeffries said.
