While Kamala Harris has tried to distance herself from President Joe Biden, first son Hunter Biden lauded the vice president as an "invaluable partner" to his father.
"The joyful warrior that America has gotten to know in these past few months is the same Kamala Harris that has been an invaluable partner to the president these past four years," the president’s son told Politico Wednesday.
Along the campaign trail, Harris has tried to separate herself from the Biden-Harris administration’s unpopular policy record, calling the Harris-Walz ticket a "new way forward." The Harris campaign has repeatedly ignored Biden’s offer to campaign for her, sidelining her boss over concerns that the octogenarian is a political liability, Axios reported this week. The White House, however, has said Harris's policy aims are "aligned" with Biden's, noting, "There's not been any daylight" between the pair’s decisions.
"Her campaign reflects the joy and optimism she communicates with every appearance she makes," Hunter Biden continued. "President Biden chose Kamala Harris to be his vice president and passed the torch to her because of her dedication to service, her unyielding pursuit of justice and her profound decency."
The first son also called former president Donald Trump a "fascist" and said "a second Donald Trump presidency is potentially the end of America as we’ve known it."
The president’s son is facing felony charges for purchasing a firearm while using drugs, along with felony and misdemeanor charges for failing to pay over $1.4 million in federal taxes between 2016 and 2019. Sentencing for both cases is scheduled for December.
