WATCH: Karine Jean-Pierre, Worst Living White House Press Secretary, Just Got Promoted

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, widely viewed as the least competent individual to hold the position, is getting a symbolic promotion in the final months of Joe Biden's failed presidency.

Jean-Pierre will become a senior adviser to President Biden as the 81-year-old invalid struggles to finish out the remainder of his term. She will continue to serve as White House press secretary; the new title does not come with a pay raise or any known changes in responsibilities.

"Karine has been a trusted adviser to the President and all of us here at the White House since day one. Her counsel will be critical to get as much done as possible for the American people in the coming months," White House chief of staff Jeff Zients told ABC News on Monday.

The "promotion" is in keeping with Biden's desire to be the most "smartest" person in the room at any given time, a dynamic that has become increasingly difficult to achieve given the president's rapidly diminishing faculties. In this context, Jean-Pierre is the perfect choice for the role. Her poor communication skills have infuriated liberal journalists as well as White House aides who tried unsuccessfully to force her out in the fall of 2023.

In addition to being the least talented White House press secretary in American history, Jean-Pierre is also the first black and first openly gay individual to hold the position.
