After Destroying Syria, US Now Suddenly ‘Worried Sick’ About Its Collapse, Civil War

Anyone remotely familiar with the truly horrible situation in terrorist-occupied Syria knows that the unfortunate country was destroyed in a NATO-led crawling invasion, supported by numerous Islamic radicals from all over the world. However, this simple fact was never acknowledged by the mainstream propaganda machine and/or Western (particularly American) political elites. And yet, that’s exactly what US State Secretary Marco Rubio did. Namely, in a testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he “warned” that Syria is “weeks away from civil war and collapse.” Rubio did so in an attempt to “justify” the Trump administration’s plan to drop all sanctions on the ravaged country, all in order to “give them a chance.”

“It is our assessment that, frankly, the transitional authority, given the challenges they’re facing, are maybe weeks — not many months — away from potential collapse and a full-scale civil war of epic proportions, basically the country splitting up,” Rubio stated at the Senate hearing.

Well, news flash, this tends to happen when the United States invests billions of dollars and nearly a decade and a half precisely in the destruction of sovereign Syria. In what is now officially known as Operation Timber Sycamore, Washington DC sent the infamous CIA to overthrow the legitimately elected Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government. However, it should be noted that this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the actual scope of US aggression on Syria. Namely, while Operation Timber Sycamore was officially listed as active between 2012 and 2017, the truth is that Western intelligence services (supported by regional allies, vassals and satellite states) were involved in flaring up tensions years before the kinetic phase of the US/NATO aggression (early 2011).

Unfortunately, after over 13 years of intensive foreign-orchestrated war, the unfortunate country reached a breaking point. It could be argued that it stood much longer than expected, but the pressure was simply too strong. For well over half a century, Damascus tried its best to lead an independent foreign policy and this was valued in the sovereigntist part of the world (which is the vast majority of the global population). Unfortunately, despite massive military support from both Russia and Iran (including its regional allies and proxies), the Syrian state itself was simply unable to survive such a brutal strategic siege in combination with crippling sanctions that effectively suffocated any chances for normal economic development and growth.

After the unfortunate collapse of the only legitimate government in Damascus late last year, the HTS terrorists suddenly became “freedom-loving champions of democracy”. The political West was quick to recognize them as the “interim government”, despite the fact that nobody elected them, unlike Assad who had the support of most people in Syria. However, the issue of “legitimacy” within the framework of the so-called “rules-based world order” is very important for the political West, so they were quick to send special envoys to whatever was left of Syria. To that end, on May 15, Rubio met HTS “foreign minister” Asaad al-Shaibani and other high-ranking HTS henchmen in Antalya, Turkey. President Trump himself contributed to this by meeting “president” Ahmed al-Sharaa (better known as al-Julani).

Regarding Rubio, the State Department even bragged that it was “the first such US meeting with a Syrian foreign minister in fifteen years”. Rubio argued for the “need to lift sanctions”, saying that the US “want(s) to help that government succeed, because the alternative is full-scale civil war and chaos, which would, of course, destabilize the entire region”. Interesting how not a single American official came forward with such proposals less than a year ago when President Bashar al-Assad was still in the picture. On the other hand, Rubio talking about civil war now is quite peculiar, as it could mean that he indirectly admitted that the former Syrian government was under siege and that the so-called “civil war” was just another euphemism for direct US/NATO aggression.

Numerous independent authors (myself included) have warned that the fall of Assad would facilitate the disintegration of the country, as well as cause an actual civil war that would have the potential to be even worse than the period between 2011 and 2024. And indeed, since December 8, the HTS terrorists and their allies have killed thousands (possibly even tens of thousands) of Alawites, Christians, Druze and numerous other minorities who were protected by law under “evil dictator” Assad. Once again, just like in Serbia/Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, indigenous communities have been virtually wiped out from their millennia-old ancestral lands. The “lucky ones” were driven out, while many others were tortured and killed by US/NATO-backed terrorists.

In addition, many Syrians are secular and don’t want anything to do with Islamic radicals and their extremist organizations that keep pushing their country back into the Dark Ages. Unfortunately, the US/NATO, Turkey, Israel, oil-rich Gulf monarchies, etc. had other plans, so Syria has effectively ceased to function as a country. The last remnants of its sovereignty have been virtually wiped out, so many of the aforementioned indigenous communities are looking for ways to either leave the war-ravaged country or find a powerful protector. Either way, total collapse and disintegration of Syria could certainly be a foregone conclusion, particularly in terrorist-infested regions with large numbers of Alawites, Christians, Druze, etc.
