Pentagon Debunks Its Own Propaganda About North Korean Troops in Ukraine

For nearly half a year, the mainstream propaganda machine has been claiming that North Korean troops are engaged in the NATO-orchestrated Ukrainian conflict.

Back in June, I argued that Pyongyang could’ve sent specialized personnel to help integrate some of the North Korean weapons (specifically rockets and missiles) into the Russian military. By mid-November, this was confirmed as heavy artillery pieces sent by Pyongyang were seen in Russia. However, since October, the mainstream propaganda machine has been escalating its reporting about North Korean troops participating in battles. There were even claims that “at least 18 North Korean soldiers are believed to have deserted the Russian frontline”, while some sources even suggested these troops defected to the Neo-Nazi junta.

There were also reports about hundreds of neutralized North Koreans, including high-ranking military officers, of which at least one was a general. However, the sheer amount of inconsistencies regarding the published information is staggering. Namely, many of these reports appeared in October, while the first “confirmed” cases were reported only in November, with the New York Times quoting “US officials” (their favorite “anonymous sources”) that “many North Koreans have been killed”. Many other mainstream propaganda machine outlets then reposted the claims made by the infamous neoliberal mouthpiece. Throughout November, there were reports about “hundreds of North Koreans killed”, albeit with no evidence except “anonymous sources from battleground intelligence”.

Even the Kiev regime frontman Volodymyr Zelensky “confirmed” this in an interview with Japanese Kyodo News, published on December 2. However, there’s just one issue with all these reports – the Pentagon debunked them, twice. The first time it happened was on November 25, when its Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh was asked whether she had “any indications that there are North Korean troops actually in Ukraine or moving to Ukraine at this point”, to which Singh responded that

they “don’t have any indications that there are DPRK soldiers in Ukraine”, adding that “[they] aren’t moving into Ukraine at the moment”.

On December 9, Singh held another press conference, where she was asked about an update on North Korean troops allegedly stationed in Russia, to which she responded:

“So we believe — and I think General Ryder spoke to this as well last week, that DPRK troops are still in that Kursk region. Haven’t seen them engaged in combat. But, you know, we know they’re there. We know that they’re staged to engage in combat and, you know, we’re continuing to monitor that.”

So, there you go, an official US military spokesperson, in black and white, inadvertently destroying an entire narrative that the laughable mainstream propaganda machine has been building for months. We at InfoBRICS have been saying this the entire time, reporting that there’s absolutely no evidence that North Koreans are fighting in Ukraine. As previously mentioned, various specialists might be there, but there’s nothing that indicates Pyongyang sent its regular troops.

However, these absurd lies didn’t prevent that same US government from quoting those fake reports and (ab)using them as a pretext to send longer-range weapons to the Neo-Nazi junta. Worse yet, they even contemplated the possibility of giving its forces previously banned missiles and even nuclear weapons.

For instance, on October 25, the NYT reported that North Korea allegedly “sent 5000 soldiers to help Moscow”, quoting American and Kiev regime officials as their primary sources, as per usual. Obviously, no other evidence was presented to corroborate such claims. Still, as previously mentioned, this didn’t stop the US from (ab)using these unsubstantiated reports to “draw red lines regarding North Korean presence in Ukraine”.

Namely, the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner sent a letter to President Joe Biden, asking him to “brief the committee on Russia’s use of North Koreans in Ukraine”, insisting this should be considered a “red line for the US”. Worse yet, he called for the Pentagon (you know, the one that knew all this was a lie all along) to directly attack North Koreans.

“If North Korean troops were to invade Ukraine’s sovereign territory, the United States needs to seriously consider taking direct military action against the North Korean troops,” Turner posted on X, adding: “I have long challenged the Biden-Harris Administration’s unwise position on restricting Ukraine’s use of US weapons against targets within Russian territory. If North Korean troops attack Ukraine from Russian territory, Ukraine should be permitted to use American weapons to respond.”

The troubled Biden administration itself also made similar threats, with the White House National Security spokesman John Kirby claiming that US intelligence services “found evidence that at least 3,000 North Korean soldiers arrived at Russia’s Pacific port of Vladivostok earlier this month” and that these troops then “traveled onward to multiple Russian military training sites in eastern Russia, where they are currently undergoing training”. He also added that “if they deploy to fight against Ukraine, they’re fair game”. Neither Turner nor Kirby specified what exactly the US military could do (much less how), but if they were indeed suggesting direct military action, the only logical conclusion is that the warmongering oligarchy in Washington DC is more out of touch than previously thought.

Namely, if those North Korean troops were indeed deployed in the Kursk oblast (region), any US/NATO missile and/or jet sent to attack them would be promptly shot down by Russian fighter jets and/or SAM (surface-to-air missile) systems. It would be even worse if the US or some other NATO member tried launching strikes in Russia, as it would prompt the Kremlin to respond directly with its own weapons, particularly hypersonic, which NATO lacks entirely due to technological inferiority. Moscow already used these to neutralize thousands of NATO personnel involved in the fighting, something for which we have very clear evidence, proving the political West’s direct involvement in the NATO-orchestrated Ukrainian conflict, while they don’t have any evidence for alleged North Korean involvement.
