"Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his enormous win. A much needed victory for the World," said Hungarian PM Viktor Orban.
The first to congratulate the former president was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who wrote on X: "Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history's greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory!"
Trump and Netanyahu have maintained a good relationship since the former president left the White House in 2021. While on the campaign trail, Trump appealed to US voters by promising to end the Middle East conflict between Israel and Hamas, which was a major concern among Jewish voters this election season. Trump made significant gains among the US-Jewish population this election cycle, but fell short of securing the majority of the Jewish vote, which has traditionally gone to the Democratic candidate.
Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary, who is one of Trump's greatest allies, asserted that Trump's victory was not just a win for the US, but for the entire world. He wrote on X: "The biggest comeback in US political history! Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his enormous win. A much needed victory for the World!"
Other world leaders such as El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, French President Emmanual Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also released statements of congratulations. Several of them despised Trump in the past.
Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed confidence that President Trump's leadership will restore peace to Ukraine, which has been at war with Russia for more than three years since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion. "Congratulations to Donald Trump on his impressive election victory! I recall our great meeting with President Trump back in September, when we discussed in detail the Ukraine-US strategic partnership, the Victory Plan, and ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine."
"I appreciate President Trump's commitment to the 'peace through strength' approach in global affairs," he added. "This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. "I am hopeful that we will put it into action together. We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump's decisive leadership."
