Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton triumphed in securing an agreement from food giant General Mills to remove artificial dyes from its products. Announced on June 18, this victory marks a significant win for public health. The agreement stems from Paxton's investigation into General Mills for deceptive marketing practices, particularly the use of petroleum-based food colorings in its cereals. General Mills, a household name recognized for its iconic brands such as Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Trix, Betty Crocker, and more, has committed to eliminating these synthetic dyes. In a statement to Human Events, Attorney General Paxton said, "The MAHA movement is making tremendous strides towards a healthier America, and it's vital that we continue to fight to remove the harmful ingredients that are being needlessly added to our foods. Earlier this week, in response to an investigation by my office, General Mills announced that they're removing artificial dyes from their products. I am also working with Kellogg's in hopes that they will make a similar decision to remove these toxic dyes once and for all. Petroleum-based artificial food colorings have been linked to several disastrous health outcomes, and my office will continue to work to protect Texas consumers and get these incredibly unhealthy ingredients out of our foods."

This win is not the first for AG Paxton when it comes to Making America Healthy Again. Paxton's success with General Mills follows other efforts he has spearheaded for the MAHA movement. AG Paxton was the first to file suit against Pfizer for their misrepresentation of the COVID-19 vaccine efficiency. He has also initiated investigations into Kellogg's for their use of artificial dyes, sued multiple vaccine manufacturers for fraud, and sued manufacturers such as 3M for not disclosing harmful chemicals included in their products.

This victory has also gained attention from major MAHA influencers. One such influencer is Vani Hari, who goes by "Foodbabe" and has a popular blog that helps to expose what ingredients are actually in American food. Speaking to Human Events about Paxton's win, she stated, "General Mills hypocritically pulled a bait and switch on American kids when they put artificial food dyes linked to health issues back into their cereals after vowing to remove them over 10 years ago. State-level action is moving the needle from the bottoms up with incredible leadership from Attorney General Ken Paxton."

The MAHA movement's progress, bolstered by Paxton's efforts, resonates with a growing public demand for healthier food options.
