“The MAGA movement writ large needs to become a pro-family movement.”
“A baby in every crib, I guess you could say,” Posobiec said. “Because you’ve got the MAGA baby savings account… this is huge, the idea that the Trump administration—and I think the MAGA movement writ large—needs to become a pro-family movement.”
The legislation includes a broad package of tax reforms, direct incentives for new parents, and measures aimed at securing entitlement programs for working Americans. According to Posobiec, the focus is not just on economic growth but on making the American family the foundation of national policy.
“If you put families first, you’ll have all the other things come into relief, when it comes to immigration, jobs, pro-life, all these other issues,” Posobiec said. “If we actually step up and say we’re for families… that’s why we want law and order… it’s because we love our families and want to keep them safe.”
Kenny Cody stressed that the new legislation tackles America’s population decline and aligns with Trump’s push to revitalize family life.
“If you look at any [developed] country in the world right now, all the population is going down,” Cody said. “Trump is making this investment to revitalize families. We’re a pro-family party when it comes to abortion, illegal immigration, and when it comes to actual credits and encouraging people to have babies.”
He added, “The Democrat Party is the party of death—they’re for abortion and bringing rapists and murderers across the Mexican border. But we’re the family of life: anti-abortion, anti-illegal immigration, and anti this idea of going away from the nuclear family.”
The MAGA Baby Savings Account is a cornerstone of that vision. According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the provision for children “will increase the child tax credit to $2,500 per child, establish optional savings accounts for newborn babies with a $1,000 credit added, and strengthen paid family leave.”
The savings accounts will be available for children under 8 years old who are US citizens and have at least one parent with a valid Social Security number. Parents and relatives will be allowed to contribute up to $5,000 annually in after-tax dollars. At age 25, the account holder can begin withdrawing funds, with full access granted at age 30.
“It’s a great initiative for new mothers who want to set up the savings account for their children,” Leavitt said.
The bill doesn’t stop at child-focused benefits. It also includes a $4,000 deduction for Social Security recipients and tax relief measures aimed at the working and middle class. Among these are proposals to eliminate taxes on tips, overtime pay, and interest on loans for American-made cars.
“We’re talking boosting the child tax credit, breaks for families with new babies, baby 401ks, $4,000 deductions for seniors, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security,” Posobiec said. “What he’s really doing is… this has a direct impact for Gen Z, for Zoomers who are just getting started… building their family so they can actually have a lifeline to build a life.”
Cody agreed, pointing to Trump’s massiv gains with young voters in 2024 as a result of policies like these.
“Like you said, a lot of these Gen Z’ers work in the restaurant industry… they’re graduating college, starting families, buying new cars, and even working in the manufacturing industry,” Cody said. “This is exactly why Trump won Gen Z, or outperformed among Generation Z in the 2024 election.”
In addition to the savings accounts and tax reforms, the bill includes major cuts to Medicaid abuse. Leavitt noted that “1.4 million illegal aliens who are currently improperly receiving Medicaid benefits will be kicked off the program to preserve it for hard-working American citizens.” Medicaid will also be barred from funding “barbaric gender mutilation procedures on minor children.”
