UK Reform Party leader Nigel Farage vowed on Thursday to ban transgender ideology in schools, calling it "poisonous" in a post on X, which was met with praise from his supporters.

This comes as the British politician is on track to upend UK elections after a recent opinion poll revealed the Reform Party co-founded by Farage has risen ahead of its mainstream rival, the Conservative Party. A potential Reform Party victory would likely reshape the future of British politics.

"Reform UK will ban the poisonous trans ideology in our schools," Farage wrote on X.

Farage's post was seemingly well-received by right-wing Brits, with individuals commenting that the politician's announcement garnered him another vote in the election.

Data from the YouGov survey for The Times shows the Reform Party polling at 19 percent after increasing by two points, while the Conservative Party remained unchanged at 18 percent. However, the Labour Party remains the biggest threat to the right wing, polling at 37 percent.

This is the first time that the Reform Party has risen ahead of the Tories in a poll. Farage declared: "We are now the real opposition to Labour."

The Conservative Party, which has led Britain for the past 14 years, is now polling in third, dealing yet another blow to PM Rishi Sunak's reelection campaign. The Tories claimed the Reform Party would hand over the election to Labour, per The Times.

Farage flipped UK elections on its feet after he announced his bid earlier this month. Support for Reform has only grown since.
