That’s where all of this leads: self-nullification. Death. Murder.
When people tell you who they are, believe them.
A little bit of homespun wisdom. I lose track of the number of times one or both of my parents told me that in my thirty-odd years on this rock, but they’ve always been right. If somebody is telling you who they are, you only have yourself to blame if you don’t listen.
And that’s especially true when you’re dealing with people who hate you and actively want to do you harm.
If you’re white, leftists want to do you harm. They certainly don’t want to protect you from others wishing to hurt you. If you’re white, leftists believe you’re not deserving of the same moral consideration as other people at all. You’re a different, uniquely despicable class of human being. All because of the colour of your skin.
Guilty of being white.
Of course, if you’ve been paying attention, you already know, a thousand times over, that leftists believe these things. You’ll know, only too well, that leftists blame white people for pretty much everything bad under the sun—everything bad that’s ever existed—from slavery and colonialism to climate change, gentrification and basic manners, like wearing headphones when you listen to music in public and greeting passersby on a walk in the forest.
Maybe you’ve been on the sharp end of this attitude and reaped the disadvantages.
Of course, the more Machiavellian white-haters, especially in the media and the academic world, do their best to try to clothe their naked racism in more respectable garb. They know it looks bad with nothing on. And so they’ll say stupid crap that doesn’t make sense like, “Whiteness isn’t about race or skin colour. It’s a system of oppression, a structure of privilege that benefits white people and their allies and excludes People of Colour (always capitalised).”
But you know, deep down, they don’t believe that hogwash. Whiteness is white people. It’s just people who have white skin. Obviously. Even if these racebaiters occasionally follow the absurd logic of the “whiteness” discourse to its ridiculous conclusion, accusing people like Kanye West of being a white supremacist—when he’s just a mentally ill rapper on drugs who’s furious his ex-wife started dating a well-endowed Jewish man—Kanye West is still good because he’s black. Whereas white people…
But anyway, something changed this week, when 59 Afrikaners touched down at Washington Dulles airport to begin a new life in the US. All the pretence was dropped, all the hedging. Suddenly, there was no attempt to mitigate or even disguise the anti-white bloodlust.
The mask had been well and truly taken off.
Let’s recap. The new Trump administration quickly moved to censure the South African government, cutting off US foreign aid and withdrawing from the G20 meeting that’s due to take place in Johannesburg this year, when the leadership of the meeting will be passed to the US. President Trump also announced that he would be offering refugee status to Afrikaners who wanted to escape the South African government’s state-sanctioned racism, including a new land-expropriation law much like the one that turned Zimbabwe from a breadbasket into a basket case. Last week, after months of preparation, the refugee programme finally happened. Less than 60 Afrikaners have arrived in the US, but thousands more may eventually come.
A mean little protest at Dulles greeted the refugees, but the real backlash has occurred on social media and in the news. Tiktok has been awash with homebrew reels of libtards screaming and howling about white supremacy and even threatening to hunt the new arrivals down and force them to go back to South Africa.
Talking heads said pretty much the same thing, with one commentator even suggesting the Afrikaners should go back to their homeland, which isn’t South Africa, but Germany. Never mind that the Afrikaners have been in South Africa longer than the Bantu from whom most black South Africans are descended (and, incidentally, who perpetrated a ghastly genocide on the black Khoisan who were already living in the territory).
It was left to Rick Stengel, a former Deep State apparatchik, to reveal the logic underlying the hate. Stengel said that because the Afrikaners are “descendants of the people who created the most diabolical system of white supremacy in history,” they don’t deserve to be allowed to resettle in the US. Even though he added, “they’re not directly responsible for it.”
I think we can make too much of leftism as a kind of religion, and in doing so make ourselves liable to misunderstand what’s going on and lazily dismiss it as a kind of cult whose members exercise no individual agency of their own. However, leftism is a religion; it employs theological structures of thought, value, and motivation, and what Stengel described is nothing other than Original Sin. The Afrikaner people bear the stain of Apartheid, even if they played no role in its creation. There is nothing they can do to remove it, and so they must bear the consequences forever.
But we shouldn’t fixate on the Afrikaners. It’s not just about them. What they’ve done, with the help of the Trump administration, is simply reveal the extent to which leftists truly despise white people simply for being white and want to damn them to hell with no chance of retribution or even a fair trial. Everything leftists believe about Afrikaners, they think about white people per se.
Being white is a form of Original Sin, which can only be expiated, if at all, by the most dramatic forms of self-denial, up to and including death.
That’s precisely the attitude, Aaron Bushwhacker… I mean, Aaron Bushmaster… Aaron…
Aaron Bushnell—that’s it—that’s precisely the attitude Aaron Bushnell had internalised and directed against himself when he decided to turn himself into a human torch in “solidarity” with Palestine.
He believed there was no way he could discharge his guilt as a white person, and what’s worse, a white male serving in the US military, other than by killing himself to draw attention to the plight of the Palestinians at the hands of the Israelis. That was his Calvary.
Nothing else could atone for the Original Sin of being white. He said that on his Reddit profile, and he meant it.
That’s where all of this leads: self-nullification. Death. Murder.
That’s where it’s already led in South Africa, and why Afrikaners are now choosing to leave, given the opportunity. It’s estimated that 70,000 are interested in coming to the US.
Sadly, they’ll find that America isn’t all that different from where they’ve come from. To many Americans, these people still bear the mark, on their white skin, of a guilt they couldn’t possibly be responsible for and can do nothing to expunge. The only difference is how far down the terrible road of collective guilt America has gone and whether that journey will continue. With Donald Trump as president, America at least has a chance of turning back.
