Autopsy for Boeing whistleblower John Barnett reveals self-inflicted gunshot wound as cause of death

The autopsy results for the death of Boeing whistleblower John Barnett were released on Friday.

"All findings were consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound," read the report from Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal.

Barnett, 62, who had raised concerns about the safety and quality of Boeing planes, died in Charleston, S.C. from what appeared to be a "self-inflicted gunshot wound," the coroner had previously stated.

Joshua Dean, 45, a former quality auditor at Spirit AeroSystems from Wichita, Kan., reportedly died from a staph infection called Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. He had raised safety concerns with the Boeing 737 Max plane.
