Agents of U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine valued at more than $6 million this weekend.
CBP, with the Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces for Rapid Action, intercepted a vessel Sunday carrying 588 pounds of cocaine, according to a CBP press release. The agencies arrested two men operating the boat and estimated the haul's value at $5.3 million.
The interdiction occurred in the Caribbean Sea two miles of the coast of Puerto Rico.
CBP also intercepted over $700,000 in heroin and methamphetamine at the Camino Real International Bridge in Texas on Sunday, according to another CBP press release.
Agents referred a 2006 Chevrolet Express van to secondary inspection, which revealed 31 packages containing 69.3 pounds of alleged methamphetamine and one package containing 2.6 pounds of alleged heroin.
