Former Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said that the murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley was a "senseless tragedy" that highlighted the flaws with President Joe Biden's administration.
"It was a senseless tragedy," Wolf said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "It's also an indictment of the Biden administration."
On Wednesday, Jose Ibarra, an illegal immigrant, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of murdering Riley.
He was convicted on three counts of felony murder, one count of malice murder, one count of kidnapping with bodily injury, one count of aggravated assault with intent to rape and one “peeping Tom" count.
"This is an individual that should have never been in the United States, but was paroled in, obviously given sanctuary status in New York, then flown to Georgia and commits this horrible act," Wolf said.
He said that hopefully under President-elect Donald Trump, these tragedies won't occur under the new administration.
