Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday that former Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz would be a good pick for Attorney General because voters want disruption in government agencies.
"I thought Gaetz was a good pick ... the president got elected to disrupt the Justice Department," Giuliani said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "All this crying by The Wall Street Journal that his [Trump's] picks will be disruptive, isn't that what he got elected to do?"
President-elect Donald Trump announced earlier this month that Gaetz would be his pick for the U.S. Attorney General.
The House Ethics Committee is currently in the process of deciding whether or not to release a report that centers on allegations that Gaetz engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor, which he has strongly denied. A separate Justice Department investigation concluded last year, and did not result in any charges.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has urged the committee not to release the report, now that Gaetz has left Congress.
"The American people are very tired of the government they have," Giuliani said.
