Fourteen-year-old charged in Georgia school shooting, father make first court appearance

The 14-year-old male charged with murder in connection with the Georgia school shooting earlier this week made his first court  appearance Friday.

The judge in the case reviewed some basic court proceeding before recessing.

The alleged teen shooter, Colt Gray, is being charged as an adult with murder in the fatal shooting Wednesday at Apalachee High School, in the city of Winder. His attorneys did not request his release on bond.

Four people – two students and two teachers – were killed in the shooting, and nine others were injured.

Gray's father, Colin Gray, 54, has been charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in connection with the shooting, specifically that he allowed his son to posses a gun.

He will appear in the same court as his son when court proceedings resume Friday morning.
