Iowa GOP Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst have reintroduced legislation that would deport illegal migrants who have been convicted of sex crimes.
The bipartisan legislation is titled "The Better Enforcement of Grievous Offenses by Unnaturalized Emigrants Act", also known as "BE GONE."
ICE data shows that there are thousands of illegal migrants presiding in the U.S. that have been convicted of sexual abuse, according to Fox News.
“Sexual violence has no place in America,” Grassley said in a press release. “The Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies have allowed criminals to enter our country and threaten the safety of our communities. I’m fighting to uphold the law and protect American citizens.”
The legislation introduced by the Iowa senators would classify sexual assault and aggravated sexual violence as “aggravated felonies," which would result in illegal migrants who committed those crimes getting deported.
“These violent criminals never would have entered America in the first place if we had real border security, but now that they’re in our communities, they need to BE GONE,” Ernst said. “Since Border Czar Kamala Harris won’t protect this country, then I will. My legislation will combat sexual violence by ensuring predators are identified, stopped and deported.”
