The House race in Arizona featuring two Trump-backed candidates – Abe Hamadeh and Blake Masters – as of Tuesday morning was still to close to call, with Hamadeh having a slight lead with most of the districts have reported results.
Hamadeh leads Masters with 29.8% of the vote, compared to 25.3% for Masters, with 92% of districts reporting in the race of the open 8th Congressional District seat, according to NBC News.
The race is to replace GOP Rep. Debbie Lesko who is not seeking reelection in the Republican-leaning, suburban Phoenix district.
Former President and now GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump first endorsed Hamadeh, then Masters to days before voters went to the polls Tuesday.
