Vice President Kamala Harris will speak Friday evening at the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona as the election gets closer.
Harris is expected to call for increased border security measures and contrast herself with former President Donald Trump, according to The Hill.
The Friday event is her first major border speech since she became the Democratic presidential nominee.
She is expected to begin speaking at 7:30 EST.
“The American people deserve a President who cares more about border security than playing political games," a campaign official told The Hill in an email.
Republicans have been critical about Harris's role as the "border czar" for the past few years, blaming her for the current surge in illegal border crossings.
