Homeland Sec Noem to visit El Salvador prison to which illegal migrants, alleged gang members sent

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is set this week to visit the El Salvador prison to which hundreds of accused gang members in the U.S. illegally were sent earlier this month.

Noem will visit El Salvador's Terrorism Confinement Center on Wednesday and meet with El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele

Agency spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin recently told Fox News Digital that Nome's visit shows the importance of the partnership between the United States and El Salvador regarding criminal migrants.

"President Trump and Secretary Noem have a clear message for criminal aliens considering entering America illegally: don’t even think about it," she said. "If you come to our country and break our laws, we will hunt you down, and lock you up."

Two weekends ago, the Trump administration deported 200 illegal migrants to El Salvador amid a federal judge issuing a temporary order to stop the deportations.

At issue is whether a U.S. president can use the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to deport illegal migrants accused of a crime but not having had a trial.

Many of those deported to El Salvador were alleged members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan prison gang.
