Key Dems weren't consulted on Biden's SCOTUS reform plan: Report

Prominent Senate Democrats were reportedly not consulted on President Joe Biden's proposals to radically change the U.S. Supreme Court.

According to an exclusive report from Axios, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and other lawmakers were not consulted by the White House on proposals to transform the Supreme Court.

Some of the proposals include new ethics standards for the justices and 18-year term limits.  Another House Judiciary Committee member told the outlet that they also were not aware of these proposals.

Despite not being filled in, many of the Democrats still support Biden's plan.

"I thank President Biden for highlighting the Supreme Court's ethical crisis," Durbin said in a statement.

Biden's proposal come amid mounting scrutiny of the justices over their ethics disclosures.
