Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry not joining President-elect Trump's cabinet as attorney general: Report


Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry won't be joining the second Trump administration afterall.

Landry revealed he was one of the top three candidates on a shortlist to be U.S. attorney general.

"We had this conversation a couple of different times and I told them that I would be more than willing to help them find the best attorney general for president of the United States, and I will stay right here in Louisiana," Landry said at a "Politics with a Punch" panel discussion on Monday.

WDSU reported that his statements marked the first time he acknowledged the rumors about joining the Trump administration.
