Massachusetts couple indicted for allegedly illegally voting in NH in two elections

A New Hampshire grand jury has indicted a couple living in Massachusetts who allegedly illegally voted in the 2020 and 2022 elections in the Granite State.

The New Hampshire attorney general announced on Thursday that Joshua Urovitch, 56, and Lisa Urovitch, 54, were indicted for three felonies each after allegedly voting in Concord in the 2020 and 2022 general elections and the 2022 Concord school district election while living in Ashland, Mass.

The Urovitches own a house in Concord but allegedly do not live there, according to the Boston Globe. Joshua Urovitch is registered as an undeclared voter, while Lisa Urovitch is registered as a Democrat and previously worked for a few Democratic congressmen. The couple didn't provide comment to the Globe.

The charges against the Urovitches came from the secretary of state's office standard reporting to the attorney general's office of possible illegal voting, the Concord Monitor reported.

“In every election, there’s usually one or two or three individuals that are prosecuted for voting twice or voting at the wrong location,” Secretary of State David Scanlan (R) said. “In the overall scheme of things, three, even four individuals out of 800,000 voters that potentially could turn out is very, very small, but it does happen, and so we remain vigilant in that area.”
