The House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday released a new trove of documents from the IRS investigation into Hunter Biden.
The documents were provided to the committee by IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler earlier this year to the committee and provide further context on the federal investigation into the first son.
According to Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith, the documents show Hunter Biden lied at least three times in his testimony to Congress as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry.
Here are the most impactful documents from the release:
WhatsApp text messages between Hunter Biden and CEFC official Raymond Zhao, including the message where Biden invokes his father to threaten the executive.
A Rosemont Seneca Bohai corporate document showing Hunter Biden claim in his own handwriting that he was the acting Secretary of the company, contradicting his testimony.
An email chain showing Hunter Biden working to secure visa assistance for Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky, contradicting his testimony.
An email from Hunter Biden to business partner Devon Archer shows the pair were deeply concerned with the outcome of Ukraine's 2014 Revolution of Dignity. Hunter detailed the best case scenario for Burisma amid the mounting tensions with Russia and said the election of Petro Poroshenko would be most beneficial to the gas company. Hunter also urged his partner to buy a burner phone to conduct their business.
