New York House Republicans said Thursday that they won't be able to attend former President Donald Trump's Bronx rally due to a vote in the House on legislation to bar non-citizen voting.

"New York is in play and we had all planned to be there to greet him and attend this historic event," the New York Republicans wrote in a joint statement. "However, the House schedule changed and we will be voting to ban illegal immigrants from voting in elections and to protect Americans' right to financial privacy."

Lawmakers that signed the statement include Reps. Elise Stefanik, Anthony D'Esposito, Nick LaLota, Nick Langworthy, Nicole Malliotakis, Claudia Tenney, Andrew Garbarino, and Marc Molinaro.

"We proudly stand with President Trump against the illegal and corrupt lawfare. New York will vote for Trump and House Republicans to save America this November," the New York Republicans' statement continued. 

Trump is expected to host a rally in 

the South Bronx on Thursday in Crotona Park at 6 p.m.

Liberal activist groups are organizing their own rally through social media posts entitled, "Trump isn't welcome in the Bronx."
