None of the aid delivered to Gaza through US pier has been distributed, Pentagon says

None of the aid brought through the U.S.-built pier off the coast of Gaza has been distributed to Palestinians throughout the strip, Pentagon spokesman Gen. Patrick Ryder said.

The pier allowed for 569 metric tons of aid to be delivered to Gaza's shore since last week, but so far, humanitarian organizations had not distributed it, Ryder said at a press conference Tuesday.

"We do anticipate that assistance will be distributed in the coming days here, of course, conditions permitting," he said.

The U.S., Israel and the United Nations have been discussing alternative routes for staff and cargo to move throughout the strip, Ryder also said. The discussions come after multiple U.N. World Food Program trucks coming from the port were looted by crowds. One man was killed in the chaos.

Although no aid has been distributed from the pier, Ryder said that aid has been delivered through air drops and land crossings.
