National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Sen. Tim Scott announced Thursday that he has formed a team of vice chairs to assist him in growing the GOP's Senate majority.
The committee has not had co-chairs in recent election cycles, according to the news outlet Punchbowl.
The chairpersons are Sens. Marsha Blackburn, of Tennessee, Ted Budd, of North Carolina; Katie Britt, of Alabama; Pete Ricketts, of Nebraska; and Senator-elect Jim Banks, of Indiana.
“Republicans are united around advancing President Donald J. Trump’s agenda and defending our U.S. Senate majority,” Scott said in a statement. “There is too much at stake to do this alone, so I’m thankful to my colleagues for stepping up to serve as Vice Chairs to the NRSC. Raising the resources, expanding the map, and building the organization to win is going to be an all hands on deck task.”
Democrats in fact controlled the Senate majority until Republicans won it back on Nov. 5.
Scott also said the expanded leadership team is intended to "deliver unity, transparency, and accountability."
