Prominent media figures criticized President Joe Biden's recent debate performance against presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, with renowned journalist Bob Woodward wanting answers on what happened.
Following the debate, Woodward went on MSNBC and called the debate a “political hydrogen bomb” for Biden and said the public needed answers.
He said that reporters need to be searching for answers from Biden's staff about why he did poorly.
“I think the answer here is in reporting, in seeking very aggressively, an explanation — what happened here?” Woodward said, according to The Hill. “We don’t want it to come out in some book or some memoir in a couple of years or a decade. We’d need to know now.”
Woodward wasn't the only one critical of Biden. The New York Times Editorial Board published an editorial titled, "To Serve His Country, President Biden Should Leave the Race."
Some Democrats have suggested potentially swapping Biden out with another candidate, but the White House has said Biden will be staying in the race.
Former Arkansas GOP governor and television host Mike Huckabee referred to the debate as Biden's "Hindenburg" debate.
He also criticized the mainstream media, saying that outlets covered for Biden and covered up how bad he's really been cognitively.
"Who won & who lost the debate?" Huckabee wrote on the social media platform, X. "The people won by seeing a real contrast btw 2 candidates. The MSM lost--and big--by being exposed as having repeatedly & consistently lied & covering for Biden. They pretended to be shocked by Thurs. What shocked them was getting caught."
