Rep. Mace offers bill to bar biological men, transgender women from female Capitol Hill restrooms

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., introduced a bill on Monday that would prohibit members, officers and employees of the House of Representatives who are biological males, including transgender women, from using female facilities in the Capitol or House office buildings.

Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, D-Del., a transgender woman, recently became the first openly transgender person elected to the U.S. Congress.

Under the bill, the House sergeant-at-arms, William McFarland, would be in charge of enforcing the ban, which prohibits "members, officers, and employees of the House from using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex."

"Biological men do not belong in private women’s spaces. Period. Full stop. End of story," Mace wrote on X.
