The presidential campaign of independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is reportedy facing increasing financial struggles as the expensive legal effort to gain ballot access continues to drain cash and force additional layoffs.
Five staffers who were laid off told the New York Times that they were informed the decision was due to financial struggles.
Campaign staffers still on the payroll in Kennedy's long-shot bid to become president told the news outlet the same, according to the report.
Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, gave the campaign $2.5 last month alone.
"My goal is to make sure we are on the ballots," she said.
