Rudy Giuliani disbarred in DC for pursuing Trump's claim that the 2020 election was stolen

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was disbarred in Washington, D.C., on Thursday for pushing false claims from former President Donald Trump about the 2020 election.

This occurred just months after he lost his law license in New York.

A spokesperson for the former New York City mayor said that the decision was “an absolute travesty and a total miscarriage of justice,” according to The Associated Press.

Trump has previously claimed that the 2020 election was stolen when he lost to President Joe Biden four years ago.

When Giuliani backed Trump's claims, he was also criminally charged.

His law license was already suspended in Washington and a panel had recommended that he should be disbarred.

The panel wrote that Giuliani “claimed massive election fraud but had no evidence."
