Six people dead including one shooter in Florida State University mass shooting


Law enforcement officials said that five people are dead and four others are injured in the Florida State University shooting that took place Thursday.

Officials told the news outlet WFTV9 that one shooter is dead and another was taken into custody. 

The school, in its alert on the social media platform X said the shooter is believed to be in the area of the campus's student union.

Six people are injured and one person is in critical condition.

Students at the Florida Panhandle school have been ordered to shelter in place and to lock doors and windows.

The FBI and local police are on the scene and President Donald Trump has been briefed on the matter.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier released a statement that reads: My office is responding to the active shooter situation on FSU’s campus, and we will provide updates as they become available.
