Trump campaign donation site crashes in wake of NY criminal trial verdict

Former President Donald Trump's campaign website and donations page appears to have crashed in the wake of his criminal conviction in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's hush money case.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records on Thursday and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.

Trump's campaign website, donaldjtrump.com, currently leads to a 500 error page.

After the verdict, Trump expressed defiance and insisted "[t]his was a rigged, disgraceful trial and the real verdict is going to be Nov. 3 by the people."

"This was done by the Biden administration in order to hurt a political opponent," he went on. "We'll keep fighting. We'll fight to the end and we will win. This was a rigged decision right from day one... we will fight for our Constitution."

In the wake of the verdict, some conservative figures have suggested that the verdict could serve to bolster Trump's candidacy rather than detract from it.

"Congratulations to Donald Trump on winning the 2024 presidential election," wrote conservative commentator Matt Walsh.

"One of surprising effects of this sham verdict: more black voters will flock to Trump in droves & for good reason. I didn’t think the Democrat Party would be so dumb, but here we are," wrote tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy.
